WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

A display of snacks at a roadside stand. It took me awhile to see how zany it was.

Apparently pistachios are macadamias and cashews are pecans in India.

Well I was puzzling and puzzling and puzzling... and then I got it!
Bless my daft little heart. Bless the zany people of India...

Oh....I first learned to cook (no one in my family cooks) in an Indian restaurant, and I'm a longtime admirer/devotee of the labelling on Indian products.

I've got a jar of Tamarind paste on my kitchen shelf, right now, with a directions-label proclaiming (as a friend recently noted):

"Mix with fresh water to form a sludge. Delicious & Refreshing for your cooled family!".

I kid you not.

Advisedly yours as ever,

David Terry

What is truly funny to me is that Price Chopper is a major grocery store chain in the Northeast, headquartered in Rotterdam, NY. Some of my family works for them. How amazing to see their boo-boos all the way across the world!!

Were the packages sent to India because they were mistakes ("seconds")?

Don't you wonder how many of our "mistakes" get sent overseas?
