Yes, I'm aware of this depressing betrayal of the American public. I firmly believe that all of should give voice to our priorities by contacting everyone in the political arena that exerts any influence in the politics of coal generated power. Thanks. Mary

Thanks for the excellent, evidence-based piece on the need to vigorously pursue the Clean Air Act. The medical profession and even key leaders of the power industry itself clearly understand the need for responsible power generation.

Every legislator should be required to read (and perhaps reread annually) The Spell of the Sensuous by David Abrams, the philosopher/ecologist whose persuasive research shows how "civilization" has "turned in upon itself, isolating itself from the breathing earth." Modern economies ultimately cannot prosper if we ignore the ancient, original economies of the Earth who sustains us all.

Absolutely, Mary. I'm going to write more about that--time to get engaged and active. Thank you Joeth. I don't know the Abrams book, and look forward to reading it on your recommendation.
