Last week, when we were in a cool snap (i.e. weather formerly known as spring) I came upon this artist during one of my Central Park rambles. Now, an artist en plein air in New York City always draws a crowd, and this one had to answer endless questions from small children and their parents who were strolling by (though tucked as she was at the base of a ravine, she probably had more privacy.)
She seemed to enjoy herself in spite of the interruptions, and I enjoyed the magic of watching reality transformed onto canvas. I did ask permission to take pictures, but then got an attack of the shys and did not ask her name.
