Daffodils on my mind. I always feel sad when the daffs begin to shrivel up and disappear. To me it marks the beginning of the end of spring. (Is this a glass half empty sort of marker?)
I hold on to the flowers as long as I can--some blossoms look awful when they dry, but daffodils, and tulip petals, are beautiful. The colors become more elegant in their subtlety.
Hang on as long as you can. That's the rule of thumb when it comes to beauty.
