I love that line in Wind in the Willows: "There is nothing--absolutely nothing--half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats." I think about it whenever I start messing about in anything with the kind of enthusiasm that carries you away on such a swift tide that before you know it, hours have passed.
I've been messing about in photography for the last couple of years. I never owned a camera until I started this blog. Now I'm lost without one. I often have pictures that need no story, so I'm going to start sharing them with simple captions--just to mess about.
